Infraquinta Meeting Monday 19th October

1.       Roads  The contract has now been signed for Phase 3 of the roads and work should start later this year.
2.       Refuse CollectionInstallation of the in the ground recycling bins should be starting soon. The two locations are confirmed as the car parking area opposite Lot 62 and the car parking opposite Lot 38
The plan is to start refuse collection from properties next year and at that time the ‘moloks’ will be removed
3.       Zona Verde Work on landscaping and maintaining these areas has been delayed due to the problems of ownership. Infraquinta is a municipal entity and therefore only allowed to work on public land. Loule Camara’s records do not show any of the land as being public. The zona verde is deemed to be communal land and so is the property  and responsibility of Salinas owners. Unfortunately no documents can be traced to confirm this collective ownership. We are continuing to work with Infraquinta to resolve the situation.
4.       One way system.  Consideration is being given to No Entry signs at the Lot 57/78 junction to make the ‘in’ road one way travelling east from Lot 41 to Lot 57. Stop signs and white lines will be provided at the Lot 40, 41, 26 27 junction.
5.       Lot 21 Work is underway on the villa being built on this plot. A 3 metre corridor runs down the left hand side of the plot. All excavation work has been completed without any damage to the water supply
6.       Excavations on the main road. Pipes are currently being laid along the road from Ancao to Salinas. This will be the new route for our water supply.  The connection that we have at the moment was made because it was the quickest way to get good quality water to Salinas.
7.       Salinas Road Plan. Thought is still being given to providing a plan of Salinas with the street names shown; to be located near the entrance
8.       Original cisterna. The old cisterna on Lot 76 remains a danger. Infraquinta plan to fill it with sand and then put a new cover over it

Update on Plots 1 and 2

Mr Yves Riviere, the owner of Plots 1 and 2 has, as promised, provided more information about his plans.

Having recently been to Portugal to examine the plots and consult experts he has decided to demolish the construction on Plot 1 and has already been in contact with companies who might do the work.
He has consulted the architect who conceived the project in 1984 in order to  determine the amount of concrete that needs to be removed and the work necessary  for the platforms to be levelled
It is hoped that the work can be completed during Winter 2009-2010
Evaluation suggests that the work to clear the site could take up to one month
