Infraquinta Meeting

Held on Monday 14th September

Zona Verde Maintenance  Eng Luis made a distinction between private and public zona verde As a general principle Infraquinta will work on the public zona verde this Autumn to get them into shape. The stumbling block remains the need for proof to demonstrate that these are 'public'. Gelderconstroi provided no documentation and their office is now closed
The areas we expect Infraquinta to maintain are:-
a) Palm Trees area.
b) Between Plot 76 and 68/69 where the original cisterna was located
c) Area next to Plot 13 between footpath and tennis courts
d) The area of  the old sewerage treatment plant
Infraquinta will "research at City Hall" to determine status of these areas of land
Recycling Bins  Infraquinta is waiting for delivery dates. Two sets of bins will be located opposite 61 and 52 as previously agreed.
Phase 3 Roads  Have not been put  out to tender yet but the target date is still this year.
Traffic signs and white lines  Infraquinta will wait until  Phase 3 road work is complete before erecting traffic signs and painting white lines
One Way system  One owner has objected to Infraquinta about this proposal and so there will be further discussion; but we are bearing in mind that there was a majority vote in favour at the AGM.
Entrance map of Quinta das Salinas  Nothing has been done about this yet because there is the problem of how to erect the sign, since all plots end at the footpath and there is no intervening verge
Lot 64  The Camara  have instructed the owner to tidy this up, including putting a barrier behind the rocks to prevent sand running out. Infraquinta want to locate a street name here but are waiting until things have been cleared up.
Lot 21 Eng Luis has been in touch with the planning authorities. Work has been stopped until the issue of the utilities corridor is resolved
Noisy manholes  They will ask their maintenance staff to try to and fix the manhole covers that rattle as cars go over them.
Sewerage The work has been completed to take Salinas 2 sewerage to the pumping station and then into the main sewer. Everything is now functioning correctly.

The Ria Formosa

The ICNB (The Institute for Conservation of Nature and Biodiversity) which manages all protected areas in Portugal published revised regulations for the Ria Formosa earlier this month. They are mainly concerned with the enlargement and protection of the area. There are links to the relevant documents below but please note these are large pdf files and are slow to download.

Entrance Sign

The Quinta das Salinas entrance sign has been vandalised. Margaret Jackson, who kindly designed and provided this, is organising repairs. The remaining letters have been removed by Inalux but should be replaced within a few days. The brackets will be strengthened and hopefully be more secure

Plots Update

Plot 64
SPOA and Infraquinta have been concerned about the sand and soil being washed off the building site and down the road. This created problems for the road sweeper and in in the longer term gave Infraquinta concerns about Phase 3 of resurfacing. Work has now started on landscaping the frontage and it is hoped that eventually the run off problem will be solved

Plots 1 and 2
Yves Riviere, the owner, is looking for a buyer for plots 1 and 2. Details to follow

Plot 21
The Camara has halted work on this plot at Infraquinta's request. SPOA is also attempting to clarify details of what is being built. This plot has a safeguarded 3 metre wide utilities corridor running through the plot which should not be built over. It is important because this is the route taken by our water supplies from Quinta do Lago.
